Brooklyn Nets Air Jordan 2

Project Summary

An old pair of Retro 2’s born anew. This custom theme was based on the Brooklyn Nets city edition jersey which is inspired by Brooklyn born artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Taking visual cues from the legendary artist, the sneaker is in the NBA franchise’s signature black and white color scheme with a Basquiat twist.

The “BKLYN NETS” logo moves away from its traditional lettering and is instead inspired by his distinct style, while the multi-colored stripe that runs along the heel is reminiscent of his work. Basquiat’s iconic crown motif can be found on the back ankle area and is a representation of Kings County.
